Scarlett is completely obsessed with movies, she often finds herself daydreaming about her favorite films and truly believes that movies are not so different from real life. Her obsession with the movies is taking a toll on her relationships so she decides to take a temporary break from everyone in her life to house sit in Notting Hill (which just so happens to be one of her favorite movies). She sets off hoping to prove to her father, fiance and best friend that real life can be like the movies. During this quest, she meets Oscar, Ursula and Sean who all support and encourage her love of films in a way that no one else in her life can or will. In her month long vacation from life, Scarlett starts to really live out her dreams and is forced to reevaluate what is missing from her current situation.

So I'll be honest, I started reading this book solely because I'm a bit obsessed with Love Actually and figured if that's in the title then it must be good. While that may be the reason I began reading, I continued because I really liked Scarlett and found myself relating to her. Scarlett's obsession with films is like my obsession with books, I too find myself trying to live out my favorite novels. I can't tell you how many times I've reenacted the "and in that moment we were infinite" scene from the Perks of Being a Wallflower or pretended my dog was like Enzo from The Art of Racing in the Rain. I know what its like to really love something enough to want to make it happen in real life so I knew how Scarlett felt and I was genuinely happy for her throughout her journey. For some people, Scarlett may have gotten too caught up in her movie fantasies but I honestly didn't mind it. More than anything though, I love that she gets her fairytale ending(but I won't tell just what that is since I don't want to spoil the book).

Overall, this was another quick, easy-to-get-into novel that ends positively. It's perfect for when you need a happy book.

A Week at the Beach by Virginia Jewel

I have been away from blogging from a long time now but I think its finally time I get back to it. I recently purchased a kindle (which I am obsessed with) and have been finding as many free books on Amazon as possible. I'm limiting myself to the free ones until I finish the tons of unread print books I have laying around or until I find a book I MUST HAVE, whichever comes first. A Week at the Beach by Virginia Jewel was one of those free downloads so I figured I'd give it a try and I was glad I did. From Amazon.com
Thanks to a scandalous affair, NYC girls Chrissy and Cami were banished from their usual beach vacation in the Hamptons. Needing to get away, Chrissy begged her stepfather for the keys to his family’s Outer Banks beach house. Darren needed to get out of LA, and his best friend Nick was delegated to keep an eye on him. Hoping to stay out of trouble, the boys flew off to the Outer Banks to spend a week at the family beach house. When the boys discover that the house is already occupied by two beautiful NYC girls, the fun begins. What happens when these four very different, and very headstrong, people are forced to share a beach house? Will wild child Chrissy set her sights on one of the eligible bachelors? Has Darren learned his lesson and learned to behave himself? Will Cami and Nick survive the week with their undisciplined friends? More importantly, what will they each take with them from their week at the beach?
This was a quick, easy read. I found myself completely captivated by the budding electricity between Cami and Nick and could not put this down until I finished. I found myself rooting for them to get together and was so excited when they finally kissed. Their relationship/friendship during their time spent on the beach was really adorable, its what every summer romance should be. The ending was a bit predictable and unlikely to ever actually happen in real life but for some reason that didn't bother me. If you're looking for a cute easy read, then I'd recommend A Week at the Beach.
