Always the Baker Never the Bride by Sandra Bricker

Emma Rae Travis is an award winning wedding cake baker currently feeling under appreciated while working in someone else's bakery. Jackson Drake is a businessman completely in over his head. He is desperately trying to honor his late wife by turning her last regret into reality by transforming The Tanglewood Inn into the hotel that caters to every aspect of weddings from bridal showers to receptions to honeymoons.

One rainy day Jackson walks into Emma's bakery to get a brownie and coffee, little did he know what was to come. After Emma wins a prize for her creme brulee wedding cake, Jackson's meddlesome (but helpful) sisters convince her to come in to interview to be the baker for Jackson's hotel. Emma lands the position and is finally able to run her own kitchen! With her great ideas and seeming wealth of information on various topics, Emma soon becomes an integral part in the transformation and development of the Tanglewood Inn. As she makes herself part of the Tanglewood family, Emma and Jackson's relationship grows and flourishes to something much more than employee and employer.

As a hopeless romantic who loves baking, I have to admit that I loved this book. I loved that the girl who loves to bake won over the man with the sweet tooth. Aside from that, I found the characters relatable and enjoyed the inclusion of recipes and wedding tidbits. However, I'll admit that the novel was a tad predictable, from the moment Jackson walks into Emma's bakery you sort of already know they will end up together. Even so, I still loved watching the relationship between the two unfold and seeing how they handled the struggles they faced.

Overall, I gave it four stars mainly because of my obsession with baking and my love for cutesy love stories.
