Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater

From www.maggiestiefvater.com
For years, Grace has watched the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf—her wolf—is a chilling presence she can't seem to live without. Meanwhile, Sam has lived two lives: In winter, the frozen woods, the protection of the pack, and the silent company of a fearless girl. In summer, a few precious months of being human... until the cold makes him shift back again.

Now, Grace meets a yellow-eyed boy whose familiarity takes her breath away. It's her wolf. It has to be. But as winter nears, Sam must fight to stay human—or risk losing himself, and Grace, forever.

So I know I'm late to jump on the Shiver train, but I finally read it yesterday and absolutely loved it. I wish I had read it earlier but looking on the bright side now I don't have to go through the anticipation of waiting for the sequel, I can just go pick Linger up at the bookstore. But seriously, I loved this book, I loved how well the longing to be together came across.

Sam and Grace have been in love for the past six years but have been unable to do anything about it since they are not always in the same form, since Sam spends part of his year as a wolf. I absolutely loved Sam and Grace and found myself cheering for them and hoping that they could find a way to make their peculiar situation work. I loved that they had been admiring each other from a far for the past six years and just how perfectly they worked together once they finally are able to meet. This was such a great book, I just can't recommend it enough!

Disclaimer: I did not receive any compensation for this review. I purchased this book myself.
